Cottonwood Springs and Gold Road Cemetery:

Rating:  2.5

Distance: 15 Miles

Duration: 5 Hours

Description: Very scenic run into the Mt. Nutt Wilderness motorized corridor. At the end of this "in and out" run, there will be an option to continue East on silver creek road and see the Gold Road cemetery. There are bypasses on the most difficult spots. This run requires lots of attention to wheel placement over the rocks.

Tyro Mine - The Great Circle Trail Run:

Rating: 2 - 2.5

Distance: 15 Miles

Duration: 3 Hours

Description: The trail begins at the Katherine Mine Road just before the Lake Mead recreation area entrance to Katherine Marina. The trail climbs to some very scenic points of the Colorado River and desert. You proceed on to the Tyro Mine. The mine is no longer accessible but the trail adjacent is still open. This is a recreational that is not difficult trail but great fun to drive.

Pass Canyon:

Rating: 2-2.5

Distance: 35 Miles

Duration: 6 Hours

Description: Pass Canyon is located directly east of Bullhead City. You can reach Pass Canyon from either the North at Mile marker 10 off Hwy 68 or the South off Silver Creek Road. The access by Moss Mine is no longer open but there is wash East of Moss Mine that allows access to Pass Canyon. The trail consists of rugged desert and rolling foothills no matter which way you choose to approach the trail head. Pass Canyon is basically a rutted sandy wash in a canyon with a variety of playgrounds along the way. The canyon narrows at one point and provides a steep drop off known as the “Wall of Death”. The trail can change from one year to the next depending on the season’s rain. When incorporated with Scream Hill/ Thumb Butte will make a full day.

Doug’s Obsession:

Description: This is a unique and interesting trail. The trail is actually a spur of Pass Canyon that returns you to main trail leading to Pass Canyon. The trail is a narrow canyon with some stair steps and bolder obstacles. The trail opens into the wash that requires you to climb a small hill and then back into an adjacent wash.  From there the options are to go North to Hwy 68 or South to Silver Creek. Either of these options will make a full day.

Pinto Wash:

Rating: 2-2.5

Distance: 35 Miles

Duration: 6 Hours

Description: Pinto Wash is directly East of Bullhead City. It was named for the now unrecognizable remains of a Ford Pinto. You can reach Pinto Wash from either the North at Mile marker 10 off Hwy 68 or the South off Silver Creek Road. The access by Moss Mine is no longer open but there is wash East of Moss Mine that allows access to Pass Canyon. The trail consists of rugged desert and rolling foothills no matter which way you choose to approach the trail head. Pinto wash consists of interesting challenges with steep descents and climbs along rocky terrain. The trail can change from one year to the next depending on the season’s rain. When incorporated with Scream Hill/ Thumb Butte will make a full day.

Razzle Dazzle:

Description: Razzle Dazzle is a trail that actually enters on the south side of Silver Creek about 4 miles east of the Bullhead Parkway. The trail crosses back across Silver Creek and consist of several hill climbs and descents along with circling switchbacks. The trail takes you to some interesting back country around the Moss mine area.

Scream Hill & Power Line run (short):

Rating: 2-2.5

Distance: 6.9 Miles

Duration: 1.5 Hours

Description: The trail begins off the south side of Hwy 68 at mile marker 10. You will proceed south through the wash and continue up the hill to some very scenic views. The trail will take you to the top of a hill that will require a step descent (scream hill) to the slurry line. This is a fun trail that offers a variety of off-road terrain. The trail is great as a short trail to check out your rig’s operation in a variety of conditions. This short trail will exit on the north side of Thumb Butte at mile marker #6

Scream Hill/Thumb Butte Loop/ Slurry – Power Line:

Rating: 2.5-3.0

Distance: 16 miles

Duration: 4 Hours

Description: The trail begins off the south side of Hwy 68 at mile marker 10. You will proceed south through the wash and continue up the hill to some very scenic views. The trail will take you to the top of a hill that will require a steep decent (scream hill) to the power line. As you proceed west the trail will take you to the base of Thumb Butte. You will then enter Veteran’s Pass and proceed to the underwear tree where 1st time visitors are required to leave an under garment. From the underwear tree you will proceed east up the wash towards the slurry line. You will encounter the 2nd part of the ridges and descend into the valley. Soon you will be on the Slurry-Power line road that will take you back to Scream Hill and out to Hwy 68 where you started.

3D:

Rating: 3.0-3.5

Distance: 0.5 Miles

Duration: 5 Hours

Description: This trail is unique and interesting, offering several challenges over a ½ mile track. The trail is north of Silver Creek in the region of Mossback mine. A variety of access trails will take you to the trail head of 3D. A go around exists with several observation points to watch the action. When incorporated with Mossback Mine run this will make a full and interesting day.

3D:

Gun site

Rating: 2.5

Distance: 15 Miles

Duration: 3.5 - 4 Hours

Description: The trail begins off Hwy 68 between mile markers 10 &11. The  trail proceeds with a hill climb to the top of “3 poles scenic view”. You will then encounter a very scenic enjoyable drive in and around the Black Mountains. The return trip includes the 3 poles power line road ending back on Hwy 68.

Sleeping Princess:

Rating: 3 - 4.5

Distance: 14.4 Miles

Duration: 8 Hours

Description: Begin your adventure by exiting the north side of Hwy 68 at mile marker 8. This is a nasty, dangerous trail that should be driven with at least two other vehicles. Besides an array of challenging rock obstacles, the road climbs over 2,000 feet through the heart of the Black Mountains. Much of the road is loose, steep shaley rock. Two optional side trails, Bob Miller Extension, and Hell’s Half Mile, are available for those who are looking for the more difficult challenges. Once at the top of Sleeping Princess the views of the Colorado River and Golden Valley are spectacular.

The Ridges:

Description: The Ridges is a trail that is typically run as part of another trail (Secret Pass). The Ridges consist of hill climbs while riding the crest of a given knoll. The trail is technical and requires attention to ones driving to avoid sliding off the trail.
